lyrics

Lyrics:

I knew you for a moment, the only chance I'd get.
I read your books for years and years before we ever met
But I heard it on the news today, the word's been getting 'round.
Fiction found its ending, thirteen stories down.

"Why" is the question; the hardest one to bear.
Shouldered by the ones who feel the fault is partly theirs.
Gathered by the hundreds, leaving flowers on the ground,
Each one of them is there for you, thirteen stories down.

Trouble filled your head while the pen was in your hand.
And I know you wrote this ending, but I still don't understand
Why those who swim in pain will dive for peace until they drown.
I guess you must have found it there, thirteen stories down.
I only hope you found it there, thirteen stories down.
